He told ABCNews.com his focus is not the consequences, but what causes it. When we develop, all the pieces of our body come together and change and are coordinated. According to Walker, we mature at age 20 and then continue to change. The first signs of aging come at 30 andstart showing at 40. In one of the girls Walker studied, he found damage to oneof the genes that causes developmental inertia, which is significant. He also suspects the mutations are on the regulatory genes on the second female X chromosome. “If we could identify thegene and then at young adulthood we could silence the expression of developmental inertia, find an off-switch, when you do that, there is perfect homeostasis and you are biologically immortal.” With this statement, Walker doesn’t mean that people would never die, there are still accidents and disease, but he argues humans wouldn’t have thelater years, people would remain physically active and able. The Academic Staff Union of Universities on Wednesday faulted the statement credited to the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo- Iweala, thatthe union demanded for N92bn, describing the claim as false.Okonjo-Iweala had on Wednesday in Minna, said the Federal Government couldn’t meet the N92bn allowances as demanded by ASUU. The univerisity lecturers, in a statement by the University of Ibadan branch chairman, Dr. Olusegun Ajiboye, described the amount mentioned by the minister as “a the imagination of the minister.” Ajiboye explained that the earned allowances, the union and the governemnt calculated in the 2009 agreement, amounted to N87b, which covered allowances for three and half years for the lecturers in the nation’s universities. He said, the N87bn was a compromise made by ASUU to scale down from N127bn. He added that the N87bn was computedbased on 15 per cent of the yearly recurrent expenditures of some nation’s universities. The statement stated, “I want Nigerians to ask the minister where she got her figure of N92bn from. There was never a time that ASUU made a demand that is up to N92bn. I think the N92bn is just the imagination of the minister. “But that is not to say that this government did not enter into an agreement with us. This is a governmentthat signed an agreement with us on January 24, 2012 to the effect that they would inject N100bn as funding into the universities in the first one month and that before the end of 2012, they would inject another N300bn. ASUU said it never demanded such amount as earned allowances in the 2009 agreement it reached with the Federal Government.

‘Dead’ Man Wakes Up, Grabs Bottle Of Water At Own Funeral

Onlookers were shocked when a man, who was said to be dead, suddenly got up and grabbed a bottle of water. The soft drink vendor in China faked hisown death in order to sue the government after an altercation with government employees. But his cover was blown when he became too hot in the Hubei Province, in central China. The heat was too muchfor him to bear. The incident occurred around 4:00 pm, when more than 10 men held the “corpse” on a gurney covered with a white sheet near the Jianghan Road subway station in the provincial capital of Wuhan. The men protested and claimed that the government workers had beaten the vendor to death and they demanded tensof thousands of yuan in compensation. More than 300 people gathered at the scene, and 80 police officers were sent to the scene to maintain order. After two hours of protest, the “dead” man suddenly stood up, grabbed a bottle of water and drank it before saying: “It’s too hot. I cannot take it anymore.” According to Human Rights Watch, many Chinese cities employ non-criminal law enforcement personnel called chengguan who work independently from police. Their job is to monitor citizens compliance with sanitation, traffic, and environmental laws. The group is not very popular with the Chinese public after a series of high-profile violent incidents involving chengguan members. In the latest incident, six chengguan members were detained after a fruit seller in Hunan diedafter the group hit him on the head amidan altercation. The “dead” man, whose surname is Han, along with two others have, been arrested for disorderly conduct. After being detained, Han told police that chengguan members clashed with vendors early in the day after claiming that their carts were blocking traffic. They told the vendors to leave before confiscating their mineral waters and other beverages.

Landlord Set Six People Ablaze For Smoking Indian Hemp

Six young men accused of smoking Indian hemp and gambling have been set ablaze in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, by a house owner in their area. It was learnt that the landlord, identified as Agba, in Ago-Oko area of the town where the incident occurred, had warned the boys on several occasions to desist from their acts, warnings they ignored. However, on Tuesday night, the boys engaged in their acts in their regular building which infuriated Agba, their neighbour. The landlord subsequently poured a kegof petrol, through his window on the firstfloor of a storey building, on the boys.The already lighted Indian hemp was flamed by the petrol causing a major fire that burnt the boys causing severe injury. The victims were later rushed to a state hospital where they are currently receiving treatment. The victims are Saburi Seteolu, RaheemBello, Tunde Adesanya, Suleiman Adebesin, Azeez Alabi, and Kola Sodehinde. The landlord, a commercial cab driver inthe town, has been arrested as confirmedby the spokesperson of the Ogun StatePolice Command, Muyiwa Adejobi. Mr. Adejobi said the incident occurred late on Tuesday. “Information available to us is that the suspect had an argument with the youths before he poured PMS on them in Ago-Oko area. “For now, we cannot ascertain other circumstances that led to the incident butwe have the suspect in our custody and we are working hard to untie what led toit,” he said. The spokesman said Ogun Police Commissioner, Ikemefuna Okoye, had ordered a comprehensive investigation into the matter. He said the suspect would be charged to court as soon as investigation into the matter was concluded. He also warned youth in the area not to engage in any reprisal attack, saying that could disrupt peace in the area.

10 Year Old Escapes Shark

A 10-year-old boy became the star of South Carolina’s Governor’s Cup of Surfing when he survived an encounter with a shark. And despite the Jaws-like incident, Tyson Royston’s dad said surfing is his son’s “passion,” and he will be back inthe water soon. With hundreds of people watching, Tyson Royston swam out at Folly Beach with six others to compete in the boys final division Sunday, says Nancy Hussey, co-director of the Southern South Carolina District of the Eastern Surfing Association. But the competition came to halt when an 8-footbull shark came after Royston’s surfboard “All of a sudden, we realized something was wrong,” Hussey said. “We even on the boardwalk could see that it was a shark.” The animal snapped at Royston’s leash– a cord every surfer wears around his ankle to tie him to his board. Royston was pulled underwater and his surf boardwent straight up in the air, perpendicularto the water. “Somehow, I don’t know how, he had thepresence of mind to take off his leash,” Hussey said. “He got away, and the shark was tangled up in the leash.” Royston’s coach Bob Weaver swam out to rescue his student. “He threw the boy into a wave and Tyson swam to safety, not a scratch on him,” Hussey said. The board washed up to shore not long after. Royston was shaken by the event, but is doing fine now, according to his father. “He said he would definitely be looking at things differently in the water,” said William Royston. “But he’ll definitely bejumping back in.” After the shark encounter, the competition was cancelled for the evening. “There was no way I was going to put anyone back in the water immediately after that,” Hussey said. “I think we dodged a bullet and it was a blessing.” Hussey maintains that while the incidentwas serious, she said it was not a shark attack. “This was just an encounter,” Hussey said. “That was a bull shark, andthey’re really aggressive and if it had wanted to attack, it would have been a very different outcome.” Hussey said the association is vigilant about keeping its competitors safe. “It’s the Atlantic Ocean. It’s not a pool and the water isn’t super clear, so unless you see a fin you won’t know they’re there, ” Hussey said. “But we have lots of lifeguards and very experienced surfers.” Hussey said there are several big surfing events coming up in the next fewweeks, and the three cancelled events from Sunday’s competition will be also completed on a later date. When that next competition comes, Royston will be there. “It’s his passion,” said the boy’s father. “I’m sure whatever the next contest is, he’ll be in it.”

Governor Adams Oshiomhole paid a surprise visit to the State Staff Training Centre and was shocked when a female teacher Mrs Augusta Odemwinge could not read a sworn affidavit she tendered as part of her credentials. The embarrassing discovery was made at Asologun Primary School, Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area, Benin City when on arrival at the centre, the governor took time to peruse some of the teacher’s credentials and documents presented. When Mrs. Odenwingie took her turn forthe exercise. The governor asked her to read the affidavit she presented. Pastor Refuses To Join Man And Woman Together In Holy Matrimony Because Of Bride’s Sexy Dress

Around 2:30pm the pastor asked a leader of the church to ask the bride and the family about the other part of her dress. The bride informed the leader ‘this is it’. The leader reported the news to the pastor and then the pastor informed face-to-face the bride and groom at separate times he could not perform the wedding with the bride in herselected dress. The pastor told the bride she would have to cover up her breast area and find a way to add length to the dress. The bride informed the pastor there is no way to accomplish this with so short notice and she has to wear her dress. The pastor let her know, he wouldnot perform the ceremony then walked back to his office. The wedding party tried many times to change the pastor’s decision but their efforts was ineffective.
